I've been having a lot of success with: Hex: Devour hope, Hex: Pentimento, Hex: Plaything and Scourge hook: Pain resonance. If they cleanse plaything, dont use pentimento until you get 3 stacks on devour, because if they see pentimento they will start cleansing. The trick is to make them think its just another plaything.
